HAlo- Halo,minuman campuran ice cream, cengkaleng, jelly,susu, es serut etc yang sangat terkenal di Manila. Ice cream yang paling enak untuk dicampur adalah yam atau ube ice cream. Minuman ini bisa ditemui di banyak tempat, tapi yang paling enak dibisa dibeli di restaurant Aristrocrat, restaurant phillipinos yang terkenal enak dan cukup mahal. Letaknya tepat di depan Manila Baywalk. Jadi kalo mau makan disana diusahakan jam 5an biar tar bisa sekalian liat sunset kalo tidak mendung dan trus bisa jalan-jalan sepanjang Baywalk sambil liat kafe- kafe dan hotel mahal yang berjajar. Kalo yang malas jalan, bisa naek kereta kaya delman atau naek bis yang terbuka kayanya di taman safari hanya denagn 25 peso saja.

Pisang goreng disini (di Manila) pake tusukan sate, dua pisang satu tusuknya. Harganya 10 peso pertusuk. Ada yang digoreng pake lapisan kulit pangsit,dan ada yang biasa saja tapi keduanya pasti dilumuri gula merah yang sangat lengket ke gigi jadi bagi yang bergigi sensitive dianjurkan makan pisan goreng yang tanpa kulit pangsit biar tidak terlalu lengket. Untuk yang tidak suka manis, kalo mau beli dianjurkan pilih- pilih dulu yang gulanya sedikit biar ga nyesel beli.

Thank God, there are lots of Chowking in Manila. Chowking, satu- satunya fast food yang jual makanan Chinese dan tersebar dimana -mana, kaya Mcd di indo. Cuma di Chowking, kita bisa beli sepiring kangkung dan semangkung mie yang rasanya mirip kaya mie di Indonesia. Tapi tetep saja, sambal atau saus yg enak tidak disediakan :) so bagi yang suka sambal just like me, harus makan mie tanpa rasa pedas sedikit pun. Bagi fans dumpling atau yamcha, Chowking sediakan banyak menu pilihan yang rasanya bisa bersaing deh sama Grand Eastern. Kalo ada yang mau coba masakan Chowking bisa pergi cabangnya di Jakarta jadi bisa ngerasain makanan Chisene yang terkenal banget di Manila.

My first lunch at Glorreta, a nice mall in Makati area was a relieving moment for I thought I would never find delicious food in Manila. A plate of vegetables that were cooked as if they were meat was just right for my starving stomache. Maklum saja karena perut belum diisi sejak kemaren sore. Two choices of food and rice cost 79 peso or about 17000 rupiah and a bottle of lemon tea cost 20 peso. It was a reasonable price for a big city like Manila.

we're officially bankrupt but fortunately were invited for a free dinner party this thursday to celebrate the graduation of students from Fakultas Sastra. the food was nice and there were different kinds of entertainments. again forgot to bring camera but could perhaps ask the students to share some of their pics for the blog

picking up jean2 to her house at the end of the world (coz it's so very absolutely extremely far away from the uni ^^) then we went to twig house in sukajadi, not to shop for winter clothings but to eat batagor kuah. it's very salty (too salty for me, in fact). ci deth has kindly agreed to be our driver for the day. planning to have roti boxer after batagor but coz of the big portion, can't really go for it anymore. so went to find colenak in dago which didn't exist and finally stopped at ciwalk and had half a dozen of j.co donuts ^^ again, forget to bring camera so got no pics to publish. maybe we have repented and become less narcissistic now =P

coz fenty is leaving soon, we decide to treat her for her fave food: yumcha!!! so we got up very early and met at talagasari and gave her the farewell gift, which turned out to be in the wrong colour (siapa sih yg beli ... ga bener!!!), and had a great morning. coz very excited, i forgot to bring my camera and as a result got no picture to post here hiks ... hiks ... and afterwards klub icip-icip would be bankrupt for the rest of the september (and still 4 weeks to go ... ooops)
